Below I’ve compiled a list of resources I use on a regular basis while I’m traveling. If you have additional questions or recommendations, feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Airbnb – I use Airbnb almost exclusively, for both short and long term accommodations. Sign up with this link and we both get a $35 Airbnb credit! Woohoo for travel!
TripAdvisor – A great place to book hotels and find what to do in a city.
Hostel World – Occasionally I’ll stay at a hostel, mainly to socialize with other travelers.
Couchsurfing – Stay with locals for a fun cultural exchange.
Free Campsites – Used this website on a camping road trip around the U.S.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Rome2Rio – A great site to discover how to get anywhere by plane, train, bus, ferry and automobile.
Google Flights – Find cheap flights in seconds, explore destinations on a map, and sign up for fare alerts.
Bla Bla Car – A very popular ride share service in Europe. Truly a cheap way to get around.
Lonely Planet – Great guidebooks and a great website with tons of travel tips and advice. The shoestring guides are my personal favorite.
TripAdvisor – Find out what travelers are saying about locations around the world.
Rick Steves – The Godfather of travel. If you’re going to Europe, his Through the Back Door guide is a must.
Road Trips of America – A comprehensive guide to road tripping the USA. Thanks for sharing Nicole!!
