Day 32 – Colorado Springs, Colorado

3,935 Miles Traveled

Finally made it to my aunt’s house in Colorado Springs. And wouldn’t you know it, not one picture of my aunt! I was so busy relaxing that I didn’t even turn on the camera hardly once. I just had too much fun. 4-5 days of sleeping, hiking around Colorado Springs, watching movies, and fighting my allergies.

My aunt was extremely accommodating, filling her fridge with everything my stomach desired. I went out to her weekend dance lessons, where I learned how to do the waltz (which I was AMAZING at, despite what my aunt might tell you). My aunt’s coworker Sandy was kind enough to be my tour guide around Colorado Springs, showing me all of the awesome bars and hiking trails.

Calling Sandy an outdoor enthusiast is a vast understatement.

“What do you want to do tomorrow? Hike? Climb? Bike? Run?”

“How about a game of cards?” I joked.

Sandy took me to Ute Valley for a fun hike, and then over to the Air Force Academy. After several visits to the Springs I still hadn’t seen the Air Force Academy, so it was great to check that off the bucket list. And damn if I didn’t take ONE picture! Wish I had more time here. 🙂 I swear it’s people like Sandy that make travel so fantastic.

What an awesome week. Thanks Sandy and Kay. I’ll be back soon!
